Mixit Tallahassee presents several events throughout the year intended to highlight the contributions of women and to acknowledge the injustices women face. For more information on the following events, please contact us.
Red Light Open Mic an explosive night of spoken word poetry, featured performance, and music. "Sometimes it’s subtle; sometimes it's bold, but always enticing and tempting."
Ultimate Speed Dating where SHE meets HER in one fun filled night, have a few drinks, and maybe even fall in love. Followed by a late night dance party.
Reel Talk Cinema bringing representations of LGBTQ life to the big screen. Open to the entire community (men, women, queer, straight, ally) this is an event for open-minded thinkers. Presenting documentaries and feature films, audience members discuss how their experiences relate to themes in the film. Followed by a post-screening mixer. 3rd Thursday of each month, 6:30 pm @ All Saints Cinema, 918 1/2 Railroad Ave., Tallahassee.
Monthly Mixers each and every month; a comfortable venue where you can unwind to an eclectic mix of music, signature drinks, and amazing women. 7pm - until. Various locations.
*Annual AIDS Walk/Run (October) to help raise money for Big Bend Cares, the agency that provides education and comprehensive HIV/AIDS support to people infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
*Women’s History Month (March) events to recognize the diverse accomplishments and the significant role of women in history.
Reclaiming Myself Retreat A
retreat for women who wish to rediscover, appreciate,
and love their own uniqueness. A day of
discovery, exploration, and celebration in
a relaxed and supportive environment. Meet
other women and make new friends while participating
in a variety of contemplative activities including
journaling, sitting and walking loving-kindness
meditation, and guided discussions designed
to help women of all ages identify and connect
with what makes them wonderfully special.
*Equal Pay Day (April) symbolic of the four additional months that a woman would need to work each year just to equal their male co-workers yearly wages. Spirit
of Rosie Awards are presented to two women for their accomplishments in breaking the glass ceiling or succeeding in non-traditional careers. Nominations accepted from Feb 22 – March 29, 2010.
Wise Womyn – A discussion group for stimulating and free-style conversation. Our
newest event, the discussion group is conceptualized
as a confidential space in which participants
can connect with others and reflect on experiences.

Second Sundays Meet Up – Where do I go to find new friends? What if I’m not out? Is there a non-judgmental space where I can meet friendly, accepting, forward-thinking women? If you have ever pondered these questions, 2nd Sundays meet-up at 101 Restaurant is for you. Whether you’ve been a supporter since inception or never attended a Mixit Tallahassee event, stop by every 2nd Sunday of the month between 5-8pm for a friendly social dining experience, and catch a glimpse of who we are. 101 Restaurant is located at 215 West College Ave., Tallahassee, Fl inside Kleman Plaza. Note: This is not a private venue, however, Mixit Tallahassee makes every effort to create a safe zone.
All events are for single women and couples who enjoy the company of friendly women just like them!
